Fall Colors Starting in Southern Zion
This autumn is unusual for me. Being from Ohio, I am used to a sudden change in the trees and then a quick leaf drop. Here in Utah things really slow down. The aspens take there time, seasoning the landscape rather than suffocating it. I was surprised to find some attractive red maples and rust colored oaks; typically eastern species. The cottonwoods and willows haven’t budged and provide a nice green contrast to the pallet.

Zion Riverwalk Waterfall
Last week I went along Zion’s Riverwalk trail and found this picturesque waterfall. Well, actually, it is five waterfalls in one.
Short Trip to North Rim Grand Canyon
Yesterday I explored the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have to say that it was exceedingly difficult to extract any photographs due to recent wildfires and a very heavy layer of smog. Nevertheless, I did what I could. Here are a few results. I hope to return in a month or so when the aspens have turned yellow (that is, if they haven’t all burned down).
